Dr. K. Moidu

Dr. K. Moidu is the founder and the Chairman of Kunhitharuavi Memorial Charitable Trust (KMCT). He is a native of Kuttiady in Kozhikode district of Kerala. Dr. Moidu is a renowned medical practitioner and a prominent social figure. He was part of the first batch of M.B.B.S. students who passed out from the Madurai Medical College in 1960. In 1968, Dr. Moidu set up the Western Hospital a 50 bedded hospital in the heart of Calicut city. He later went on to start the National Hospital, a 300 bedded multi-specialty hospital. In 1994, he founded The Kunhitharuvai Memorial Charitable Trust ie. KMCT to give yeoman services in the field of education and health care. In 2001, through KMCT he started many professional colleges. There are 22 professional colleges with almost 7000 students. Around 1500 people are directly employed and 6000 people benefit indirectly through KMCT. Dr. Moidu was one of the founder directors of Muslim Educational Society (MES), which started many educational institutions in Kerala. He proved himself as a good leader and organizer. Dr. Moidu has served as the president of Calicut Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), The Rotaract Club of Calicut and Indian Medical Association (IMA), Calicut chapter.
